A Modern Twain Story: The Prince and the Pauper
Directed by : James Quattrochi
Writing credits : Amanda Moresco
Plot
13-year-old Matthew Hill and 13-year- old Jeff Mahoney had anything in common beyond their good looks. One plays stickball in the streets, while the other returns volleys from his Butler.
Perhaps the two boys paths wouldn’t have crossed without a chauffer driven Matthew determined to run away from home and venturing to the eastside. Matthew found himself face to face with his look a-like, Jeff, and the plan to switch lives was hatched.
Each boy had lived with only one parent. Matthew, with his self-made multi-millionaire Mom and Jeff, with his stepfather and two stepsisters. One look at the limo and Jeff was hooked; these were going to be the best weeks of his life! Matthew was stoked knowing he was paying his Mom back for the ‘small’ indiscretions he ‘may’ have caused at his snooty boy’s academy. This is what spring break is really all about!
Each boy has growing pains in his new home, but the adjustments are humorous and heart warming; from Matthew’s first rainy day baseball game to Jeff’s first shopping spree! Who knew they sold clothes no one else has worn before? Mathew and Jeff soon realize that appearances are not necessarily reality and that there is no place like home…
